THANK YOU + MEMORIES
By Bernadette Terzich
I just wanted to say thank you to everyone. It feels like everyone I've ever known and who has known Sasha has either text, called, FB messaged, sent flowers, cards and gifts. Thank you, TRULY thank you for reaching out and flying out. It's been over 2 weeks now and things are somewhat slowing down. And that's ok, don't feel like you NEED to or even feel guilty for NOT reaching out anymore. I know that Logan and I will pop in your heads once in a while and you'll shoot me a text or message just to let me know you're thinking and praying for us. Please know that it's appreciated and well received.
I want to also thank our home church, Compass Bible Church. Wow. Our friends at the church rallied together to put the most beautiful memorial for Sasha. He would have been SO impressed. The only thing that I had to do was write my eulogy, EVERYTHING else was taken care of by the body of Christ. Thank you CBC for lending a hand, Thrive ministry, tech team, parking ministry, facilities, Group 12, the sweet friends who protected me from beginning to end, Alyssa Cuccia for taking care of my sweet boy the entire day, everyone who brought food and helped set up and clean up for the reception. I know I'm missing a lot of people from that day but please accept my sincere appreciation for all that you did to help. And thank you to the prayer team for praying for our family since 2010...

A special thank you to our pastors; Pastor Elliott - you counseled us during premarital counseling, married us, you were our Pastor for Thrive and his Pastor for Men's Bible Study, you came to our home to pray for us during treatments, visited him in the hospital, prayed with us on the last day and stood by me every step of the way after. You gave a beautiful heartfelt speech at the cemetery. Pastor Lucas - you wrote cards to him 5 years ago when he was first diagnosed, you stepped in after Pastor Elliott had to leave the hospital that morning and became my protector and source of comfort, you helped me at the mortuary and continued to check on me even in between Chicago and Guatemala. Pastor Mike - You are one of the busiest men I know, yet you've made yourself available to me and you spoke such truths at the memorial. Your words were comforting to those who don't even know the Lord. Thank you for shepherding your flock so well and I couldn't be more thankful and blessed to be a part of CBC. I thank my husband for bringing me to this church during the book of Romans.
Thank you to Sasha's family's church, ACC La Puente, for bringing the desserts. You blew people away with the spread of desserts! All homemade - the Eastern European women KNOW how to bake. Thank you all for the love you've shown me even though I'm not a member. I always felt welcome there and I know how much you all loved Sasha and how much you love his family.
balloon release
Thank you Landon, Dane, Bobby and Bryan for speaking so highly and so honestly about Sasha. Thank you to our friends who gave us pictures and to Rick for designing the programs and Rick and Ivan for putting the beautiful slideshow together.
Thank you 24 Hour Restoration for the balloon release and the beautiful logo flowers! So impressive! I didn't get to see it but I'm thankful people took pictures!
Thank you to the management companies who provided food and desserts as well. Thank you CAI for providing milk and cookies! I didn't get to see any of it but I heard it was GREAT.
Thank you friends and family who have sent me anonymous gifts....there are some creative people out there and I wish I knew who you were so I can specifically thank you somehow. I guess you know who you are.....

Sweet Friend
There are obviously SO many more thank you's and I simply can't remember or think of them all at this point. Please forgive me.
Thank you all for sharing in this grief. For your memories and stories about my husband. I ask that you comment on this post and share your story, memory or prayer for us if you didn't get a chance to fill out the cards at the reception. I would love for Logan to look at what everyone has to say about his dad.
